Grand Hyatt Manila supports the global Green Monday Movement at The Grand Kitchen, as well as guests who have a plant-based diet.
During The Grand Kitchen Green Mondays, 50% of the buffet spread is vegan or vegetarian. They also serve unlimited Beyond Meat burgers and sausages. Guests can also order the beyond burgers and beyond sausages ala carte in Grand Hyatt Manila’s other restaurants like at The Peak.
A person who has adopted a plant-based diet reduces his/her carbon footprint per year by 50%, because the end-to-end processing and preparation of meat uses up more energy and resources as compared to non-meat products.
While agriculture makes up about 90% of total water consumption, meat uses up more gallons of water per pound as compared to vegetables. If 365 people go green on one Monday, 1.5 tons of carbon emissions can be prevented, 892,000 liters of water can be saved, 477 animal lives can be saved and more.
The Grand Kitchen believes that by going vegetarian just for one day of the week can make a huge impact on the environment and on your health. Every Monday, they alter their lunch and dinner buffets to feature some vegetarian bestsellers across various cuisines, as well as some imitation meat and vegan cheese.

Buffet Stations at The Grand Kitchen
The Grand Kitchen is the largest kitchen in Grand Hyatt Manila with diverse stations featuring a wok, a grill, pasta, salad, cold cuts, dessert, Japanese, Chinese, Indian and Mediterranean.
It’s also worth mentioning that the dessert is to-die for, especially their Chocolate Lava Cake and the homemade Vanilla ice cream. One thing I learned from my pastry chef sister is that you can judge a buffet by its desserts. Grand Kitchen’s dessert station are certified fresh and use high quality ingredients.
Themed Buffets at The Grand Kitchen
They also invite chefs from their internal exchange program to feature the cuisine of their home country. Up until Feb 9, 2020, The Grand Kitchen had Chef Untung Taurat who hosted an Indonesian fanfare.
