In less than a month, BBX Glorietta (or “Bad Bird Express”) has gained so much foot traffic in its spot on the 2nd Floor of Glorietta 2 (across Army Navy)! I was just there last weekend and managed to try some Bad Bird classics as well as some new dishes.
One thing I appreciate about BBX Glorietta is that, apart from it being a fast food concept, it also promotes self service and CLAYGO (“Clean As You Go”). You can prepare your own take out or slice up your sandwich at the Self Service counter, where you also drop off your tray and utensils when you’re done.
BBX Glorietta is not only an extension of Bad Bird. It has expanded its menu to contain beef burgers, breakfast silog dishes and dessert.
The Longganisa-Egg-Atsara combo is a must-try! What’s special about the longganisa is that it uses a homemade grind that includes a bit of beef as well. The savory flavor is similar to that of Vigan longganisa and it is best taken with some vinegar. I got the Double Longganisa and Egg (PHP 229) as a rice dish but it also comes in sandwich form as the LEA Sandwich (PHP 159).
While BBX’s Fried Chicken Plate (PHP 179) has the same quality and portion as Bad Bird’s, this Southern Fried Chicken is priced lower in BBX to accommodate the Glorietta crowd.
However, my absolute favorite were the Huskies (PHP 119) or chia pudding. It comes in 3 flavors but the only one available at the time of my visit was the Mango Coconut. It’s the absolute best! I wish I could have the recipe, because this is more than just mango and coconut milk! I need to know that secret ingredient that makes it so fragrant!
Overall, I’m satisfied about BBX Glorietta’s selection and I’m glad they expanded to non-chicken dishes. I would say that their pork and beef selection can match their chicken dishes head on.
