Last November 9, 2018, travel bloggers from around the Philippines converged in Clark to celebrate the end of 2018 with Philippine Airlines. They were also kind enough to bring us home to our new home in Clark: Xenia Hotel, PAL’s official hotel partner in Pampanga.
Named after the Greek word for “hospitality”, Xenia Hotel Clark promises quality service, dining and facilities as a 4-star accommodation in Pampanga. Xenia also owns Puning Hot Spring, one of the few resorts that offer volcanic ash spa coming from Mt. Pinatubo.
After lunch and the hotel tour, we chilled at Xenia Lounge until we were paired off and assigned to our rooms for the night. I was roommates with Me-an (@k.me.an). Xenia gave us a 1-BR suite, which had a King Bed in the bedroom, and an extra Queen Bed in the living room. She wanted the bed by the work desk because she had to work on her speech for a conference the following day, so I had the king-sized bed all to myself. The bedroom had a lot of closets, where I unpacked my stuff and got ready for the party that evening. Me-an and I were each other’s fashion police. <3
We partied all night with free flowing liquor and Year 2000 music! I made a lot of new friends that night, including some bloggers from Pampanga who brought us to an abandoned hospital during the witching hour.
Xenia Hotel Accommodations
All suites with living room. The building used to be a condo before being converted into a hotel in 2015. PHP 6,000 to PHP 15,000 per night.
Deluxe King or Queen
1-BR unit with Queen or Twin Beds.
Executive Room / 3-BR Unit
The suite was pretty complete in terms of appliances and amenities, including a water heater, safety deposit box and bedroom slippers. They even have a security monitor viewing the hallway for anyone who comes up to your door.
The bathroom is pretty standard for all rooms and suites, offering towels, a hair dryer, toothbrushes, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, shower cap, vanity kit, shaving kit and a comb.
Xenia Hotel Restaurant
When we arrived, we had our lunch at Xenia Restaurant, where they served us a 4-course meal. Everyone’s favorite was the Tibok Tibok, Pampanga’s version of Maja Blanca made with Carabao milk. It’s extra creamy and rich! The consistency and taste reminds of the Thai dessert called tako.
Xenia’s Intercontinental Buffet Breakfast is from 6 AM to 10 AM daily. They have Korean, Chinese, Filipino and Western dishes. The servers were extra friendly and cheerful, which kind of helped me perk up after a night of drinking. I woke up super hungry that morning with a Johnnie Walker hangover!
Xenia Hotel Clark has 3 Function Rooms: Diamond, Sapphire and Emerald. You can have a round table set-up for 80 to 150 pax, or a classroom set-up which can fit more people. The combined capacity is 350 pax.
Xenia Clark has a gym, a swimming pool and a spa located on the same floor as the rooftop park where they’ve got a miniature windmill.
Note: The casino on the ground floor is only for foreigners.
