You know those restaurants that are so good that they’ve evolved into your comfort food spot on a rainy day or when you’re feeling down? Amici is definitely one of them. As if their classic menu is more than enough to keep you coming back, Chef Philip Moran knocks out new dishes to captivate your taste buds. I was invited to Amici in Ayala Triangle to try out their new offerings.
First up, their new Creamy Tomato Soup (PHP 120 Cup, PHP 195 Bowl) has a consistently smooth and creamy texture. Made of stewed tomatoes with basil and cream topped with bacon bits, this tart delight is meant to deliver a torrent of umami flavor.

New to their menu, the Italian Seafood Rice (PHP 395) contains creamy tomato sauce that gives a walloping tartness to the shrimp, sole, mussel, clam, and scallop toppings on rich buttery rice.

If you’ve ever wondered what a Spanish Italian dish would taste like, look no further: their Chorizo Puttanesca (PHP 380 Regular, PHP 725 Grande) is Italian fusion at its finest. Linguine noodles tossed in with garlic, anchovies, a pinch of chilli flakes, olives, capers, and tomatoes are the ingredients that make this colorful dish a sight to behold.

Overwhelmingly fragrant and mouth-watering, their new Salmone Affumicato (Smoked Salmon Penne) (PHP 398 Regular, PHP 770 Grande) is what happened when a traditional Norwegian dish and an Italian classic made a gorgeous, tasty baby. Made with smoked salmon mixed in tomato sauce, cream and lemon, this penne is the kind of dish you’d want to lovingly cradle in your arms and into your belly.


Just in time for the holidays, Caramia (Amici’s sweet sister dessert boutique) is offering their new Ultimate Ube Dessert (PHP 195), the deadly combination between their Ube Cake (PHP 135/slice) and their Ube Gelato (PHP 95/cup)! My advice, hop over to their shop for a fluffy, creamy, and mind-blowing Ube treat!
