As part of our staycation in AG New World Hotel Manila Bay, Mathelle and I had dinner at Li-Li Restaurant, the Chinese fine dining restaurant located on the 8th floor of the hotel. Li-Li Chinese Fine Dining showcases classic Cantonese dishes using the freshest ingredients, live seafood and top-quality meats prepared by their Hong Kong chefs.
Our Cantonese feast was prepared by Chef Raymond Yeung. We snuck into the kitchen and watched him prepare some dishes, including the stir-fried hofan which he expertly tossed in a wok.
The first thing we ordered was the Imperial Peking Duck (PHP 2,699 per half) served in 2 ways. The first or traditional way was the classic wrap with hoisin sauce and green onion.
For the second way, you get to choose from a list of preparation styles. We picked the Salt and Pepper Deep Fried Duck for a change.
Our waiter recommended the Crispy Taro Tower (PHP 388), which was light and fun to eat. The sweet soy-based sauce was just perfect on it!
He also recommended the Deep Fried Shrimp on Chinese Bread (PHP 268), which we absolutely did not regret! I usually have deep-fried mantou with condensed milk like my mom taught me, but the battered fried shrimp on it was a bite of heaven!
The last thing he told us to try was the Scallops and Bamboo Pith Steamed Rice Roll (PHP 488), which was also pretty good.
For dessert, we had the cute pork Steamed Custard Buns. The custard was a bit clumpy.
There’s also unlimited dimsum during lunch from 12 PM to 2:30 PM every Monday to Sunday for only PHP 1,088 net per person!
Li-Li has five function rooms that can be reserved for private events:
