Opened last April 28, 2018 at Ayala Malls Vertis North, The Craft Central is a workshop cafe by Sisters Monique Ventura and Alexis Ventura where people can practice and buy materials for arts and crafts while enjoying artisan comfort food.
During the launch, we had fun exercising our creativity with their craft station. Plus, we got to bring home patches from Serious Gentlemen, fun stickers from Diyalogo, and decorated notepads from The Craft Central. Beautifully designed gift wrappers were also given away courtesy of Ink Scribbler, custom key chains by Hodge Podge, and our own selection of stickers and enamel pins from Pointy Little Things.
Their appetizing and aesthetically pleasing dishes range from open-faced sandwiches to flatbread and to rice dishes, matched with heavenly milkshakes. Food consultant Chef Geremy Kho is the man behind the appetizing and aesthetically pleasing comfort food. The reason behind the collaboration was to achieve a workspace with food for art and crafts workshops. Whenever you purchase a drink, you can buy the metal reusable Gubby & Hammy Forever Straws at PHP 9 less as part of the straw initiative to save the environment.
The Vertis North branch of Craft Central is the largest branch yet, and has everything you could possibly need to unleash your artistry and style: paint, string and yarn, woven basket cases, burlap, beads, iron-on patches, stickers, printed tape and blank notebooks!
I was surprised to find that The Craft Central carries accessories like tassel earrings! They’ve also got wires or metalwork, key chains, pins, greeting cards, and other novelty items that make great gift ideas!
Miguel and I spent a good deal of time with designing cards with watercolor and colored markers. Various design outlines were sketched, scanned and printed on cards for us to fill in. The Craft Central Manila hosts some workshops every now and then for painting and calligraphy.
The Craft Central is also located at Greenbelt 5 and SM North EDSA, and will soon open its 4th and 5th branches in SM Megamall and SM Mall of Asia. They’ve also got an online store that offer craft supplies and hand-made products. Shop at www.TheCraftCentral.com
