We spent a Sunday with our foodie friends Harvard (@AlwaysHugnryPH) and Tina (@HungryTravelDuo) at Laguna’s newest aquapark, which just opened this April 2018: Redwood Waterpark and Resort. It’s a 7-hectare property with a capacity of at least 1,500 people! It actually takes a golf cart to get around the sprawling estate, and they have multiple vehicles freely shuttling guests between facilities.
Entrance Fee and Promos
The regular rate on the entrance fee is PHP 400 per person. but you can get a 20% discount if you book with at least 10 persons in your group for PHP 320 per person.
Catch their summer promo until April 30, 2018 for PHP 1,000 per person (at least 50 persons), inclusive of the park entrance fee, cabana, lunch and snacks! Reserve now by calling the number below.
Redwood Waterpark Facilities
Before entering the waterpark, guests have to walk through 2 waterfalls and a fountain archway in slo-mo to wash off all the unwanted dirt.
Redwood’s has all the essential entertainment facilities of a modern aqua park. They have a Wave Pool, which is a lot tamer compared to the Raging River. The wave pool is great for people who want the mild excitement of a predictable tide, whereas the Raging River is for people who want to be thrown around. Redwood provides life vests and floaters since the tides could get pretty wild in the raging river. The waves go on every hour for 20 minutes at a time from 10 AM to 6 PM daily.
Inflated Obstacle Course
The inflated obstacle course was also fun, especially for competitive people like me and Miguel. Harvard and Miguel also picked up two tender juicy hotdogs and started a gladiator fight, trying to knock each other over. The grueling 2-minute match was pathetic to watch! LOL!
Swimming Pool (Infinity Pool and Kiddie Pool)
A more relaxed option would be the standard pools. They’ve got a kiddie pool complete with water slides, and a much larger infinity pool for adults, which was longer than an olympic pool. All four of us had a “walking contest” to see who could get from one end to the other by simply walking in the water. Being the tallest in the group, Harvard obviously won the stupid contest which he suggested in the first place.
When you want to hide from the glaring afternoon sun, Redwood Waterpark has 4 jacuzzis with mini fountains spraying refreshing water all around them.
Other Activities at Redwood Resort
What we love about Redwood is that it has an arcade! They don’t expect people to swim all throughout the day, especially not at noon, so they set-up an indoor arcade to entertain guests. They’ve got the usual car racing, motorbike racing and basketball hoops, but they’ve also got indoor archery, darts, rifle shooting and billiards.
Karaoke / KTV
You and your friends can sing along to thousands of tunes on karaoke for PHP 2,500 (consumable). It was my first time to sing on KTV, let alone sing in public! While I normally hate karaoke, I actually enjoyed jumping and down the leather seats as we rocked to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody and Bruno Mars Uptown Funk!
Outdoor Stage with Live Band
For the evening entertainment, they invite live bands at the outdoor patio in front of Cafe Bean’yan. Comedy bands like Music Aero and M.O.S. start performing as early as 7 PM until 1 AM. It looks really nice all lit up at night.
Accommodations at Redwood Resort
Redwood’s Citadel Hotel offers luxurious accommodations within the water park’s compound.
The 14 rooms can hold up to 50 people at a time and have all the amenities a 4-star hotel has. I consider the marble floors, carpeted rooms and heavy wooden doors as a mark of quality. As if those weren’t enough, the spacious bathrooms screamed luxury with the Portuguese-style tiles and brass showers.

Where to Eat at Redwood Waterpark and Resort
Bean’yan Bar and Grill
Right at the heart of the Redwood Resort is the Bean’yan Cafe and Restaurant. It opens as early as 8 AM for breakfast. To start the day right, we had some of Bean’yan Cafe‘s hot drinks: Hot Caramel Macchiato (PHP 150), Hot Caramel Match (PHP 150), and Hot Chocolate (PHP 120).
They were perfect with Bean’yan’s All-Day Breakfast meals: Macau Longganisa (PHP 200), Corned Beef (PHP 215) and Embutido (PHP 150).
Other options at Bean’yan Cafe and Restaurant include comfort food dishes like pastas, pandesal sandwiches and katsudons: Pasta Aligue with Buttered Shrimp (PHP 230) and Tokatsudon (PHP 165).
For lunch, we got to try Redwood’s specialty dish: the Bilao Surprise (PHP 2500). Good for at least 10 persons, this platter contains all sorts of grilled FIlipino favorites like pork BBQ, inihaw na tilapia, grilled eggplant and okra, grilled stuffed squid, grilled BBQ shrimp, salted duck egg and pork liempo. The dinurado rice was so moist and sticky! It went really well with the grilled pork belly–my favorite! I had at least three servings of the dinurado rice!
The Bilao Surprise comes with your choice of fresh watermelon or mango, as well as a pitcher of strawberry or mango juice.
Bean’yan Cafe becomes Bean’yan Bar and Grill late in the afternoon, serving some refreshing cocktails for PHP 110 each like the Singapore Sling, Mojito, Zombie and Adios Motherfucker. They’ve got promos on Tiger Beer for PHP 300 per Bucket (6 Bottles) and on Tanduay Ice (Buy a Bucket, Get 1 Bottle Free). Pair these up with some barchow from Bean’yan Bar and Grill like the creamy Pork Sisig (PHP 315), Dynamite Sticks (PHP 170), Onion Rings (PHP 130) and Grilled Liempo (PHP 465) while you watch the live band starting 8 PM, or as you sing along to some KTV tunes with your friends (PHP 2500 consumable)!
For snacks, Redwood has invited some concessionaires in their own Food Court, which is still being filled up with some of our favorite kiosks or food stalls by iFranchise! They’ve got Siomai, Veggie Balls, Kikiam, shawarma and a lot of other Filipino street food options. To beat the heat, they’ve got frozen organic juices with the Lemon Chili taking the gold!
