EMPACHO Modern Filipino: New Dish Alert 2018 (QC)

If there’s one restaurant I would go back to, it would be Empacho for its crazy modern Filipino fusion! My return to the fun and eccentric restaurant, located on the second floor at 170 Tomas Morato Corner Don Roces Avenue, could not have been timed better: Chef Dimchee Nuñez debuted all-new menu items that yet to be released in lieu of Head Bartender and Co-owner Paolo Barlis‘ birthday.

First up, we all gazed in awe as they brought out their titanic ChichaWOW (PHP 260). Its size is definitely matches its crunch: MASSIVE!

Traditional street food fans rejoice! Your new favorite pulutan can be found at Empacho and it’s made with baka, manok, and baboy isaw. The TRIsaw (PHP 350) is juicy and extra zesty with pinakurat sauce.

Myke Easy’s favorite has got to be their tender, crunchy, and tasty ChichaPOP (PHP 280) chicken lollipops with Sriracha mayo. He was so eager to try them, he swiped a couple while no one was looking!

A new and unique addition to their bar food, the Sisig Fries (PHP 260) is made with bagnet sisig, salted egg aioli, cheese sauce, and 12-inch cut fries. (Yes, they’re that long). They’re super addictive as they’re fun to eat!

One of my favorites, the Sinampalukang Tadyang (PHP 550) is slightly sour and extremely mouthwatering–the beef ribs slide off the bone with ease and melts on your tongue.

Pares Lomi (PHP 375)

The fusion between two classic Filipino desserts, the Bibingka Cassava Cake (PHP 225) is deliciously sticky, salty and sweet. Enjoyed all year round, it is the perfect way to end off any meal.

The drinks by Paolo Barlis should not be missed! The wide variety of refreshing fruit shakes is ready to quench the summer thirst this 2018! The Gulaman is our favorite!
