Regarded as one of Makati’s best kept secret Italian restaurants, Va Bene Pasta Deli serves authentic Italian taste at reasonable prices! Executive Chef Massimo Veronesi is the Italian chef behind Va Bene’s secret to success. Having trained at Lago di Garda, apprenticed in various Michelin starred restaurants, and then worked as head chef of Mi Piace at the Peninsula, Chef Massimo ensures that every customer gets the most value.
Initially located at an obscure location in a gas station along EDSA, Va Bene now stands at two branches strong, one in Makati and the one we checked out last weekend on the third floor, Central Square in BGC. Despite the fact that Va Bene sits in a quiet corner across from the movie theater, all of their tables were full with people lined up outside. Frankly, we weren’t surprised. There’s a reason why the restaurant is aptly named after an Italian expression that means “It’s good”.
We focused on sampling Va Bene’s affordable Weekday Business Lunch set menus, which are available from 12 PM to 5:30 PM only on weekdays:

Cramped in a tight space, we shimmied our way between tables to sit with our friends. Upon ordering, we were given complimentary bruschetta with salsa dip made of chopped tomatoes, basil, parmesan, and olive oil.
