The Lenten season is upon is which means we have to give up a few things we regularly indulge like juicy beef, chicken, and pork. Fear not, there are places around that satisfy your cravings without going off the rails. Tendon Akimitsu in Ayala Malls the 30th has what it takes to make your Lenten season taste good!
We kind of went crazy and ordered one of each tendon set, and surprisingly finished almost all of it in one sitting!
If you’re new to tempura, you have to get the Mixed Tempura Set (PHP 390) as your crash course into the world of crunchy, tasty, saucy, tempura. The set contains Tiger prawns, fish, carrot, eggplant, beans and shiitake mushrooms.
Traditionalists usually go for the Ebi Tempura Set (PHP 420) which offers a classic set of Tiger prawns, eggplant, okra and sweet potato.
Their Nami Tendon Set (PHP 390) has fresh and juicy Tiger prawn, scallop, whitebait fish, okra and sweet potato.
Sometimes, tempura is not enough to fill your stomach. If that’s the case, carb up with their delicious Hot Soba Set (PHP 390) which pairs Tiger prawns and hot soba noodles.
Raina and I always go for the irregular and limited edition dishes. One of which, the Anago Don (PHP 780) is a dish that contains eel, eggplant, okra and sweet potato.
