Zakee Middle East is a humble little spot located in Marikina Heights that serve authentic and home-cooked Jordanian cuisine.
The word “Zakee” means pure, and thus owner and head chef Saife Momani (half-Filipino, half-Jordanian descent) makes sure that all menu items taste authentic. Herbs and spices are imported, but everything else is sourced locally.
Zakee Middle East first started as a food cart in May 2006 then opened up a pop up along Gil Fernando in 2011, but closed down due to road widening. Their new home now resides in Bayan-bayanan and was opened last year September 8, 2017.

The Hummus (PHP 95) is made with cooked, mashed chickpeas or other beans, blended with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, salt and garlic.
The Moutabal (PHP 95) is made with cooked eggplant mixed with tahina, olive oil, and various seasonings.
The Shakshouka (PHP 95) is made with poached eggs and tomato sauce, chili peppers, and onions, often spiced with cumin.
The Keema (PHP 125) is made with minced beef with peas or potatoes. Its flavor was rich and is great when paired yogurt and naan.
The Ox Brain (PHP 95) is fried and sauteed with various hot spices making it tasty and lip smackingly savory.

The Beef Kebab Biryani Rice (PHP 145) is made of local rice mixed with spices, rice and beef. The biryani flavor is on point, although it could have been more authentic if cooked with long grain rice.
The Chicken Kebab Biryani Rice (PHP 135) is cooked on a skewer over fire marinated in various herbs and spices.
