After brunch at Mei Wang Fang Chinese Bakery in Robinsons Place Manila, AlwaysHungry.PH treated us out to some dessert at The Dessert Kitchen, which has an assortment of desserts from all over Asia like shaved ice, parfait, pudding and eggettes at affordable rates.
The Chocolate Shaved Ice (PHP 168) was dark and shaved very delicately, but it wasn’t as creamy as I would have wanted it to be.
The Sweet Osmanthus Pudding (PHP 128) had a clean refreshing taste.
While the Ujikintoki Traditional Japanese Style (PHP 258) had a great presentation, the red beans were the only ingredient I enjoyed in this entire mound. Everything else was too bland for me.
The Sesame Rice Ball in Coconut Milk was something a bit more familiar and homey. It’s a hot dessert soup that makes one feel good.
Overall, I’m not quite sure I would return to The Dessert Kitchen for the same dessert. I’d probably go there if I were in the area to try out other kinds of Asian dessert.
