After an extensive workout at the gym, I headed to Solaire Resort and Casino for a brunch buffet at Yakumi Japanese Restaurant to gain back the calories I lost. Was it worth it? Yes, it was.
Yakumi’s offerings encompass a wide breadth of traditional Japanese cuisine, especially classic favorites like Sushi, Japanese Curry, Tonkatsu, Chicken Teriyaki, Beef Sukiyaki and Teppanyaki. While everything can be found at the center of the hall, there’s a dedicated room where they make Yakimeshi.
One of the things I judge a buffet by is the Salmon Sashimi, and let me tell you that Yakumi Japanese Buffet’s sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth fresh! In fact, the kitchen doesn’t have any freezers–except a small one for storing ice cream. All their seafood and meat are shipped daily.
We also ordered things a la minute like the Ebi Tempura. The fried breading was heavenly–fluffy and light.
I also got a Miso Ramen, which was literally ramen in miso soup.
Yakumi’s desserts are also a must-try, especially the Mango Cremeux and the Crepe Flambe, topped with some Homemade Flavored Ice Cream. I personally sampled the Black Sesame and the Sweet Corn.
Yakumi’s brunch buffet is available every Saturday from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM for PHP 2,688+ (VAT-inclusive and subject to 10% service charge).
